Carry Plastic Waste Back Down #2: Planting Commitment, Harvesting Care
Puncak Mangu, May 5, 2024 — Once again, the forest of Puncak Mangu bore witness to the sincerity of small steps toward greater care. In the continuation of the initiative titled “Carry Plastic Waste Back Down #2”, Paralegals.id once more held a mountain clean-up as part of its commitment to preserving harmony between humans and nature, in line with the concept of Tri Hita Karana, particularly the aspect of Palemahan.
This activity followed the movement that began in October 2023. This time, in addition to still involving Sispala Wana Bhakti Pertiwi from SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi, Paralegals.id also invited several notary staff from Denpasar City—longtime friends of Paralegals.id Founder, Suka Antarayasa, and Partner, Yuda Swastika, with whom they had once begun their journey in the legal field as notary staff.
Traces of Friendship, Steps Together
Amid wet leaves and steep trails, this cross-background collaboration became a symbol that environmental care knows no profession. From student nature lovers to legal practitioners, all gathered with the same spirit: to protect the sustainability of Bali’s nature.
“We want to show that anyone can take part. You don’t have to be a nature lover—just a human who realizes that this earth is inherited, not owned,”
said Yuda.
The presence of the notary staff reinforced the message that this movement does not belong solely to a community, but to everyone who carries a heart and moral responsibility toward the environment.
Not Just Climbing, But Caring
From morning until dusk, participants trekked along the path to Pura Pucak Mangu while collecting plastic waste scattered along the hiking trail. The plastics were gathered into bags and carried back down by each participant. The principle remained the same: what you bring up, you must also bring back down.
Through this activity, Paralegals.id reaffirmed that social awareness and ecological consciousness are essential parts of a just and sustainable legal practice.
A Movement That Keeps Repeating
As a law firm rooted in local values and sensitivity to the environment, Paralegals.id believes that the effort to protect the earth must not stop at a single moment or a single activity. Care must grow into a habit.
“This small movement will keep repeating, because care never ends in just one day.”
— Suka Antarayasa
Paralegals.id is committed to continuing the Mountain Clean-Up movement as a space for collaboration between professions, generations, and emerging awareness—where law, nature, and cultural values can coexist side by side in lasting harmony.
